North Star Bible Camp

“Love Lifted Me”

But I will sing of your strength; I will sing aloud of your steadfast love in the morning. For you have been to me a fortress and a refuge in the day of my distress. Ps. 59:16

You’re invited to a weekend of fun with others, encouragement in your faith and time away to recharge at the Covenant Women Statewide Retreat. The weekend begins on Friday evening with a pot-luck dinner and then an extended worship time that evening. There will also be two worship sessions on Saturday and one Sunday morning. Click HERE to see who will be speaking this year. There will be free time on Saturday afternoon for you to find what blesses your soul–being with others, canoeing, napping, playing games, crafts, and more. And yes, back by popular demand, we will have a lip-sync contest for you budding stars.

WHAT will in COST?

North Star Bible camp has increased its fees this year, so we have as well. The full weekend rate is $185. This includes 2 nights of lodging, delicious meals, and programming expenses related to all the extras the committee seeks to provide.  If you are only available to stay one night, the fee is $150, and the Saturday only rate is $100. Financial assistance is available. Please do not let the expense keep you from coming. There is a place on the registration form to request assistance.

WHO will be THERE?

This is a statewide event hosted by the Women’s Ministry of the Alaska Conference of the Evangelical Covenant Church. We invite women of all ages from our road-system and rural churches churches and affiliate ministries to gather and encourage one another. We value the multi-ethnic, cross-generational, and diverse women who gather each year. You are welcome to attend as a guest with one of our Covenant women. WHAT about bringing my CHILDREN?

Nursing moms and mothers with infants are welcome to bring their babies with them. We will work with each mom to accommodate sleeping arrangements, however, we usually try to house mothers together.  We are often asked about bringing teen daughters to the event. We have chosen to extend an invitation to daughters who are seniors in high school or older.  We want this space to be a place where women can speak and share freely about their lives and journeys, as well as experience the various emotions that come along the way. We also want speakers to feel free to share vulnerably and not be concerned about younger ears hearing things that they are not quite ready to process emotionally. If you are bringing a teen, please fill out a separate registration for her.

WHERE do we SLEEP?

The camp has several cabins that are heated with bunk beds with camping mattresses. There is a bathroom in each cabin with running water and showers. We assign housing prior to the camp based on the church group you are associated with and/or your roommate requests. We understand that top bunks can be problematic for some, so there is a place on the registration form that you can let us know if you require a bottom bunk. Some women have chosen to bring a camper to sleep in on the camp ground. If you are interested in doing that, please email Sharron Carlson at skj@mtaonline.net to request that option. Click HERE to see photos of the cabins and camp facility.

HOW do I SIGN UP?

The registration deadline is September 17. After that, the cost goes up by $20 for late fees.

  1. Fill out this form. You will receive a confirmation email once you have successfully submitted your registration form.
  2. Payment can be made at the retreat with check or cash. Online payment will be available in September.
