Annual Events

Annual Meeting: April 10-13, 2024

The Annual Meeting is the highest constituted authority in the Alaska Conference (AC), made up of delegates from member Covenant churches throughout the Conference. Delegates gather together for worship and fellowship, and to elect leaders, review finances, adopt a budget, and address the business of the Conference. Shaktoolik Covenant Church will be the host site for the 2024 Annual Meeting on April 10-13, 2024.

Covenant Bible Camp

2024 Dates:

High School: June 1-7 ; Junior High: June 8-14 ; Trailblazers June 16-21: Pathfinders: June 22-27

In our remote corner of the world, our camp is simply known as, ‘Bible Camp.’ Bible Camp is located on the North River, roughly ten miles from Unalakleet, Alaska and serves over four hundred campers each summer ages nine to twenty-five and several hundred more adults. Campers come from over thirty different villages all over rural Alaska, though most campers hail from the Norton Sound, Yukon Delta, NANA region, and Kobuk area. http://www.covenantbiblecamp.org/

Day of Prayer for Life: January 31, 2024

This day is a day set aside in early September to seek God together for deliverance from the epidemic of suicide in Alaska – and for a new work of God in our midst. More information: https://www.alaskacovenant.org/day-of-prayer-fasting/

Statewide Covenant Women’s Retreat: September 20-22, 2024

The Women’s Retreat is held in late September.  This retreat provides a wonderful opportunity and a place where women can encounter God in meaningful ways, connect with friends, make new ones, learn through stimulating seminars, and hear messages from our own Alaska women.

Pastor/Leader Retreat

Join your Alaska Conference colleagues at the Fall Pastors Retreat of the AC Ministerial Association for uplifting worship, great fellowship, and learning experiences. Spouses are warmly welcomed – even encouraged to attend! This retreat usually is held the first week in October each year at Maranatha Bible Camp in Big Lake, AK.

Prayer Calendar

Prayer is not a mere formality. It is not something we do merely for the sake of procedure or decorum. Prayer acknowledges that God is present with us at all times and in all places. Prayer honors God as Creator, Lord, and Savior. Coming before God in prayer is an act of worship. Prayer is a gracious gift from a God who desires a personal relationship with us. Special Events & Initiatives

Western Alaska Ministry Training (WAMT)

Courses are intended for both lay and vocational ministry leaders and can be taken based on interest, or as part of requirements that can lead to ordination for ministry. WAMT began in 2011 and exists to make formal biblical and ministry training more readily available, for more people, in order to equip local pastors and leaders for the unique challenges of ministry in western Alaska.

Immerse (Formerly CBE, Community Bible Experience)

Immerse: The Reading Bible is a six-volume, specially-formatted Bible created with one goal in mind: to provide the best Bible reading experience possible. By reading together twice a year, your church can read through all six volumes—the entire Bible—in three years. Then, start again! With Immerse, you can make the Bible central to your church’s identity and life together. http://immerse.covchurch.org/

Denominational Events

The Evangelical Covenant Church is committed to equipping our churches and communities by hosting multiple events each year throughout North America. While each event is creatively and intentionally designed to fulfill a different purpose, all events center around the body of Christ joining together in corporate worship, challenging one another in active learning experiences, and being encouraged through fellowship. Check out the events listed below, and we hope to see you at one of them soon. covchurch.org/events
