Temptation is common to all, but leadership temptations are especially fraught with risk – the fallout from a fall hurts a whole community. By looking at the temptation of Jesus in the desert, we can learn not only how to get through leadership temptation, but how to learn and grow from it.

The 2023 Pastor & Leader Retreat will be held once again at Camp Maranatha in Big Lake, Alaska. This is an open invitation for all Alaska Conference ministry partners (meaning credentialed pastors, lay leaders, CYAK, ACC, KICY  and all ministry personnel) to gather for encouragement, sharing, spiritual refreshment and fun, beginning with dinner on Monday, October 2 at 5:30 and wrapping up with lunch on Thursday, October 5. Worship will be held morning and evening each day and afternoons have large time segments for resting, recreation, and excursions–for what you need to recharge. Mark Meredith will be the retreat speaker.

Retreat Schedule

After spending 18 years as a small business owner, Mark became a church planting pastor in Eagle River, Alaska, where he pastored for 17 years. He also pastored for 8 years in the Seattle area before retiring in 2020. He now works part-time with the Covenant and the Pacific Northwest Conference in coaching church planters. He has been married to Patty for 43 years. They have 3 sons and 3 grandsons. He has a Masters in Christian Studies from Regent College and a Doctor of Ministry from Fuller Seminary. Ministry passions include seeing people transformed in Christ and encouraging pastors in their calling. He loves to read, fish, and travel.

$250 (full retreat/$150 for spouse)
